Funding and Relief Programs:
April 7, 2025 NEWS RELEASE: Ontario Taking Action to Protect Workers Amid Economic Uncertainty. The Ontario government is providing approximately $11 billion in relief and support for workers and businesses as it protects the province’s economy from economic uncertainty and the impact of U.S. tariffs. - Apply for funding relief – Duties Relief Program(External link) – This program allows qualified companies to import commercial goods without paying duties, as long as those goods are eventually exported. As part of the program, companies can manufacture or use the commercial goods in a limited manner before exporting.
Export Development Canada – Trade Impact Program(External link) – to help exporters reach new markets and to help companies impacted by non-payments, currency fluctuations, and other tariff impacts.
Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Financing Assistance (External link)– financing programs to support the agriculture and food industry, by helping to address cash flow challenges.
- Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) – Loans(External link) – loans to assist businesses directly impacted by the tariff.
- Employment and Social Development Canada – Work-Share Program(External link) – Work-sharing special measures to support businesses affected by tariffs.
